形態特徵

Perennial, slender, prostrate or ascending herbs, pubescent throughout.
Leaves subsessile, oblong, elliptic, broadly ovate, orbicular or spatulate, 7–20 mm long, 4–10 mm wide, apex obtuse or shallowly emarginate, base rounded, cordate or attenuate, more or less appressed-pilose on both sides or glabrous adaxially.
Flowers 1-few, axillary; peduncle ca. 2.5–3.5 cm long; pedicel slender, bracts linear, 1.5–4 mm long; sepals small, linear-lanceolate, apex acute, ca. 3 mm long, villous; corolla subrotate, 5–7 mm across, pale blue or white; ovary glabrous.
Capsules globose, glabrous, 4-valved; seeds black, smooth.
Although Ooststroom (Meded. Bot. Mus. Herb. Rijks. Univ. Utrecht 14: 1–267. 1934) recognized 3 varieties of <i>E. alsinoides</i> among the Taiwan specimens available to him, further collections have revealed a high degree of intergradation between them. This precludes recognition of any meaningful varietal taxa and we instead recognize a single highly variable species.

台灣 : dry grasslands or disturbed sites and roadsides, 800 m–1,000 m.
世界 : Tropical Africa, Australia, throughout tropical Asia, North and South America.
